Protect Your Oral Structures

Maintaining good oral health is more than just brushing and flossing. For those of us who play sports, who clench or grind our teeth or who snore, dental appliances can help preserve and protect our oral structures, and the health of our whole bodies.

Dental appliances offered at West Central Dental – such as mouth guards and sleep apnea devices – are used to help protect the health of your oral cavity. Our dentists create customized dental appliances to ensure they meet the needs of our patients.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Appliances

Sleep disorders can disrupt your sleep and negatively impact your overall health and well-being.

For patients who snore, their relaxed throat tissues cause the airway to restrict, creating the sound of snoring as oxygen is forced past. For patients with sleep apnea, their throat tissues over-relax and obstruct the airway, forcing the brain to wake them up to breathe.

At West Central Dental, we provide custom-fitted oral appliances to move the lower jaw and tongue muscles to open the airway. This helps improve your flow of breath and prevents you from waking up throughout the night.

Custom-Fitted Mouth Guards

Sports Guards

If you get hit in the mouth during a sports activity, a mouth guard provides a barrier between your teeth and the soft tissue of your mouth to protect your smile, and can help prevent concussions.

Night Guards

If you grind your teeth during sleep, a mouth guard will help protect your teeth from damage. If you clench your jaw, a mouth guard will also help prevent you from clenching and provide some pain relief.
